Frog Tape: The Blooper Reel

Ok, first let me say, if ever you wake up at 3 am and decide to spray paint, don't video it.

Second, let me say - Am I the only one that wakes up at 3 am to spray paint?!?!

Anyways, in my sleep deprived stupor, I was sitting there, praising Frog Tape in my head, mentally writing out a blog post, and decided to video taking the tape off one side to reveal my stripes.

Well, I video'd one side, and it was horrible - the video & my accent, NOT the stripes.  "That's ok", I thought..... I have another chance when I do the other side.

Well, I would have thrown this video in the trash bin too, except its now 4:40 am, and the end of this video is the funniest thing I have ever seen.  Like giggly-girl-at-a-slumber-party funny.  So if you aren't in a goofy mood, you won't think it's funny, probably like I won't when I watch it again tomorrow.

The point??  I love Scotch Blue, don't get me wrong.  I still buy it, because I can get it in wide widths, whereas I can't find that in Frog Tape.  (Unlike the video, where I said I can get it in wide LENGTHS.  What the heck, Dawn?!?  It's a roll of tape.... REALLY long... doh.)  Remember when we went from beige masking tape to the blue painters tape, and what a great improvement that was?  That's how I feel going from Scotch Blue to Frog Tape.  Blue is still good, but Green is amazing.

Oh, and for the record, I don't put GLAZE over my tape, as I claimed to do in the video.  (Shooting video at 4 am... *sigh*).  But with Scotch Blue, I do usually brush a light coat of my base color or clear sealer over my tape to get sharp stripes.  Not so with Frog Tape - just lay it down, smooth with your fingers.  Sharp.

This video has one wordy dird at the end of the tape.  But it's one that you can hear on National TV.  Just a warning, in case you have small children (aka repeating parrots) in the room. :D

Don't ya just HATE it when you are trying to be all "HELPFUL VIDEO" like, then realize at the end that even with the Masking paper, it still suffered overspray?!  Not that big of a deal, it is already fixed, but the moment when I figured it out (on tape) was just funny.

Here's to Day 2 of the Weekend, yall make it GOOD!

I think your accent is cute as can be! And for sure I would have used an HBO word when I saw the overspray! Forget the national tv word!
Glad to see I'm not the only one doing stuff like this at extremely odd hours, although I would never be brave enough to video it.
Most of my photosessions are at 5 am!

You are too damn cute. Love the accent. Up here we sound more like something out of Fargo. Don't cha know?

I am such a learn as I go girl though. I'm hearing clear glaze before painting and I'm like, "Now that'd work, never thought of that". You've probably been doing that since you were born. I am such a slow learner. :P
