Seeing Spots: Everywhere

With the same process I used for spray painting the vases (no prep, point, shoot, paint) I did some dessert plates this weekend. Garage sale fodder that I didn’t really care for, but wanted to see just what would happen.

Started off spray painting white, just to get an even playing field with those dark green hearts. (Not even primer, just white spray paint that I happened to have)

Then went to town with three different colors.

Got them fully covered on the front and back, grabbed a small brush and some white acrylic, and started painting dots while watching TV.

I hand drew them, so they aren’t perfectly crisp lines, nor are they perfect circles, but I like them that way – kinda comfortable, not too stuffy.

Decided I liked what I saw, and my next victim not able to run away was this old Christmas candle that was obviously $5 to start with. Let me just say, I didn’t even wash this glass down before spraying it – all in the name of laziness Experimentation.

Dirty or not, the spray paint when on like a dream. Did I also mention that I was doing all of this spray painting in a 32 degree garage with Texas Snow on the ground outside? Six inches of it, just to bring in the First Day of Spring with a little bit of shocked drama!

As you know, that green doesn’t photograph well, but you get the point. I tried to be very light around the edges, so that I wouldnt cover the candle. As it happened, it was only dusted with some overspray.

Again, I went with the polka dots. Ever have one of those weekends where you are stuck on one motif?

Hubby thought it was a small vase, I’m happy with that.

Oh, and before I put the white acrylic away, I hit one of the vases from last week. I like it a lot better now. It will be just different enough on top of the cabinets to give some interest.

The last spotted item I have for you was unintentional. I finished painting the cabinets black in the boys bathroom, and of course I hate to use gloves…

And the other hand looks even worse. It’s amazing my manicurist even puts up with me!

Happy Monday everyone!!!

I love the colors and the polka dots. :) They just make ya smile, don't they?
did you take the price sticker off? Cause I know paint does NOT cover stickers. Lazy me would just turn the sticker part to the wall... just sayin'

Lovely, lovely....you are really building up my tolerance for cute..I might someday be able to hold a Hello Kitty doll without bursting into flames!

Anyway, you and I have the same patient manicurist!!! Mine always says "what is all this black paint! You are not normal!!!" :D

No, and either are my blog friends and that is why I like them so much! Thanks, as always, for sharing :)

Cheers!

I like it! I painted glass the other day, too. I was surprised at how easy and nicely it went on.

These are precious and I know what you mean about the nails. I go to work and have paint around my cuticles...yuk! But hey that's the price you pay for pretting things up.
